Wal-Mart has been selling scented dolphins for years now. Air fresh products. I guess its to constantly remind us by visual and by smell, there are smarter mammals out there

Yeah those dolphins are air fresheners... WalMart also sells the foot shaped ones. I had a red one for a while... the smell lasted for a long time. Now I have a blue "New Car Scent" tree.

http://www.holisticshop.co.uk/....htmlQuote »The dolphin is a symbol of joy, of being able to ‘go with the flow’ of life, free from worry. It is significant that they are mammals that live in water because water and the oceans are symbolic of our deeper emotions and the cosmic ocean of life. Dolphins play, leap, twist and turn in these waters, and so as a symbol they represent the ability for us to release limitations, and then accept and enjoy our deeper spiritual nature. Dolphins do not dwell on the meaning of life, they simply live life to the full as a part of the cosmic dance. You should wear the symbol of dolphin as a way of showing your intention to become more at one with the breath of life (that is the spiritual nature of life) and to promote a connection with laughter, joyful release and the ability to give of yourself freely to others. http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05100a.htmQuote »The use of the dolphin as a Christian symbol is connected with the general ideas underlying the more general use of the fish. The particular idea is that of swiftness and celerity symbolizing the desire with which Christians, who are thus represented as being sharers in the nature of Christ the true Fish, should seek after the knowledge of Christ. Hence the representation is generally of two dolphins tending towards the sacred monogram or some other emblem of Christ. In other cases the particular idea is that of love and tenderness. Aringhi (Roma Subterr., II, 327) gives an example of a dolphin with a heart, and other instances have some such motto as PIGNUS AMORIS HABES (i.e. thou hast a pledge of love). It is sometimes used as an emblem of merely conjugal love on funeral monuments. With an anchor the dolphin occurs frequently on early Christian rings, representing the attachment of the Christian to Christ crucified. Speaking generally, the dolphin is the symbol of the individual Christian, rather than of Christ Himself, though in some instances the dolphin with the anchor seems to be intended as a representation of Christ upon the Cross/ I didn't know that if you saw a dophin on a grave marker it meant the person buried there was missed because they were good at (removed) http://www.angelfire.com/wi/in....htmlthe bubbles on that page make me think I'm on drugs Quote »The Rune symbol on our Dolphin card is the Rune Symbol of ‘Sowelu’. Sowelu is the rune of Wholeness and Life forces. It increases your vitality, good health and sexual powers. It gives you the power to achieve. It is a time for recharging and regeneration right down to your cellular levels.http://multirace.org/dolphin.htmQuote »The Dolphin stands for Equality, Friendship, Family, and Diversity.Dolphins live in all seas and are comprised of 32 distinct (ethnic) variations.Dolphins are family oriented and each shares in the whole. They practice equality and are self-sacrificing. When one is in trouble the others will rush in to help without concern for their own safety. There are many stories (some verified) of Dolphins rescuing swimmers and sailors of all races and all cultures from danger and peril. One famous Risso's Dolphin, Pelorus Jack guided sailing ships through the treacherous waters of Pelorus Sound in New Zealand. This faithful friend to sailors of all nations guided the ships to safe harbor for over 24 years. In addition, the Dolphin is the symbol of Submariners the world over. The Dolphin Pin signifies qualification in submarines and as a retired Navy Submariner of 21 years, the Dolphin also has a special meaning to me.http://www.crystal-cure.com/pr....htmlQuote »Dolphin: symbol of Harmony, Freedom, Communication, TrustThe Dolphin can teach us much about playfulness, and harmony with others. Dolphins have a strong sense of community with each other as well as the world around them.Their communication skills are extraordinary, and one can see that these skills indicate an intelligence which has also been associated with healing and perhaps a higher consciousness.Learn from the dolphin: Wisdom (Intelligence) Harmonious balance in life Communication as a healing voice Trust in others via community spiritso, I bet people buy them because they look cool.

The name is from Ancient Greek äåëöίò delphis meaning "with a womb", viz. "a 'fish' with a womb". a fish with a womb. I better not comment.
