New guy here needing input. My wife wanted a new Vibe GT so we worked out the deal and had the dealer located the car. It came in the other day and we went to drive it. Everything was ok except for one thing. The air conditioning didn't blow as cold on the passenger side as it did on the drivers side and no it doesn't have dual climate control. The temp difference was very noticable....probably about 15-20 degrees difference The service department is supposed to look at it Monday. Any idea on this?My wife currently drives a '92 Civic that has 200k miles on it. The ONLY option it has is air conditioning. This thing doesn't even have power steering. So for her to get to a new car that power everything including the moonroof, XM radio, remote door locks, 17inch wheels, tire pressure monitoring, cruise, ect... Its a big jump and she is very excited.

YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Welcome!!! This is the first I have heard of this problem. We have had problems with the whole A/C not blowing cold enough but not just one side. Hopefully, your service department gets it taken care of. And congrats on the new purchase!!

I'd deal with the service manager directly. I second the option that a vent duct has come lose - maybe not secured properly (or gasp - put back correctly after repair).

I know where 275 came from, the drive from Gurnee, IL (north of Chicago) to Bloomington. But that means about 100 miles of test driving was done. Hopefully, it wasn't driven too awful hard. If was a dealership like most, the salesman was in the car. Usually people are as hard on a car when the salesman is there.

It'd be hard for the two center vents to have a difference, they split off from a single air channel back behind the dash...

It didn't have power steering either (didn't need it), and I loved the way it steered. The thing tracked straight as an arrow. Always over 40mpg. 70hp, 1.5L, 4-speed manual. Loved that car.
How long was the air on? If the vent piping was hot it would take a while to even out with the mediocre AC on Vibes. If all the vents blow air, there's probably nothing wrong.

Same here. That Civic of hers still gets 38-44mpg on average. It doesn't leak a bit of oil or use any either. I think this one has the 92hp engine. It will be my back and forth to work car for a while. The gas prices are just to high to be driving the truck and the Z/28 only get 20mpg.

I just recieved a call from the salesman for our Vibe. The A/C is working correctly now. The reason for this was due to the refrigerant being low in the A/C system. Not sure on why it would be low but it was. Does this make sense as to why two vents would blow cold and the passenger side vent would be warm?

Dunno..but that could explain why my AC has been sucking as of late..
