Yesterday at the Ohio meet I checked out Shadow's vibe, who also has an AVIC N1. He's got a different adapter though, and his sits lower (which I prefer very much)I have the METRA #99-8205 adapter which can function in several ways depending on which pieces of plastic you happen to break off of it. I'm thinking that I may want to re-do mine so that the N1 sits in the bottom slot. But I'll need something that covers up the slot above it. Yeah, the screen will cover it when its running, but I still don't want that hole there. Is there something like a plasic cover for 5-1/4 drive bays on computers that can be snapped into place?

Most installers have this black plastic that super-easy to cut and can easiy be hot glued into place. I drive over won't work since its the wrong dimensions.

No, that's for use on a boat. It's a flip-up plastic cover to keep a single DIN radio dry.He's talking about ABS plastic. Metra sells them in sheets, but I don't remember the model number.

Another idea... I've done this before when I didn't want to spend mone buying plastic. You remember those old black plastic VCR tape covers....they were used by video rental places and were made of thicker plastic... I've cut one of those up to the right size and hot melt glu gunned it in.
