What an awesome day, even though it was hotter than the depths of hell...LOL. Definitely missing the people who couldn't be there, but it was still a good time. Got to meet and talk to some people that we hadn't met before, which was cool. James and I had a great time, and I'm already itching for another one ...we need to have a fall meet now when it's not so hot! I'll post the link to my pics once I have the camera cable and can transfer them...

Wow.. another great, and yet again, HOT, meet! Glad to see the 'usuals' as well as the new members that made it out to this year's meet!Special thanks goes out to Dan Tobin and his entire staff for providing us with the facilities for the 3rd year, as well as the tent, cold drinks, and great lunch from Fuddruckers. Also thanks to TNPartsGuy for providing the accessories for the raffle as well as being our resident "Parts Guy" at the meet. PICS!! >> http://gallery.genvibe.com/gallery/05ohioLooked like everyone had a great time and most hung out and baked in sun the whole day.. no rain until later this evening so it was yet again great weather.Hope to see everyone again soon!

Oh yes, a huge thanks to Dan Tobin for being such great hosts again this year. Good lunch and cold drinks on a hot day, can't beat that! Hope we get invited back next year Comparing everybody's nasty cabin air filters was interesting...neat to get to do all of these stock parts replacements, exchanges, and installs right there too, since that's something that doesn't normally get done at meets. So another huge thanks to partsguy for ordering us all parts at cost and providing stuff for the raffle and giveaway. (Sir Knocksalot has a cool chrome exhaust tip now and Miss Marcie has the cool ventvisors that go into the window track. And of course new cabin air filters and rear wiper blades...the blades to be installed sometime in the next couple of days. )

Good times, ladies and gentlemen! I'm glad I put enough trust in my car to make the voyage, so far somewhat good. I've gotta say, this was the best meet thus far. Ohio last year was a blast, this was even better. And I have to admit, I enjoyed this year's Ohio meet far more than I did the Michigan meet a couple of months ago. Dan Tobin did a fantastic job at taking care of us and making us feel welcome. We couldn't have asked for a better site to host this thing! Thanks to the powers that be at GVC for making these events happen. And thanks to tnpartsguy, it was great to meet you and the gifts you brought along with you were awesome. Thanks for your generosity - the door prizes and various other items were awesome, and thanks for making those much needed parts finally within the reach of broke folks like me and the Mrs. And most thanks for the door prize, I'm usually unlucky at such things so I really wasn't expecting that! The GM exhaust tip was quite a nice gift! A personal thanks to everyone who was there, you guys all rock. It was good seeing familiar faces around once again, and it was great to meet some new folks as well. I discovered quite some time ago that it's not really the Vibe itself that makes owning one great, hands down, it's the people. You just don't find this quality of a crowd with any car.

Just wanted to say "HEY" to everyone!! It was GREAT to meet those that I didn't get to last year and it was GREAT to see everyone else again this year!! Thanks again to Nick and Dan Tobin for making the meet a success. Also thanks to tnpartsguy for the new cabin filter!!! The A/C works GREAT now!!! Can't wait until next year to see everyone again.....btw.... Where did you all go for dinner???

I got back out just before it started raining and found the Holy Grail; Chilpotle!!, after that, I was just kinda riding around looking at the car dealerships (you have to realize, the store I work out was built in 1962!) and found Mecca (also known as MAG/Midwest Auto Group {Thanks Spoonman! for correcting me!!}) I have never seen some of these cars in person, and YES, I have pics, but it's pouring rain here, and the cam is in the car. They had probably 10 Lotus Elise's, a brace of Masurati's, a Saleen S7, several Porsche Carrara's, one of the new Ferrari's (can't remember the name, but I personally don't find it attractive or Ferrari like). Ton's of other cars....I was nearly overwelmed! It was great to meet everyone, and I'm glad I brought the filters and stuff, I was shocked that Tobin didn't have any on hand at all. It was a nice meet, but the drive was exhausting for someone who doesn't drive much (less than 3 miles a day round trip to work!!)

I take it you were looking at other dealers around Columbus right??? MAG (Midwestern Auto Group) is the first one I thought of with those cars.... They have all sorts of stuff. Also has to be the WORSE dealer i have EVER been to. I have never felt so insulted in my entire life, but they do carry some neat stuff.

I got home earlier today and was a good trip to Columbus and back, other than a queen-size matress sitting in the fast lane of I-270 (ask 4x4CHICHI about that). Thanks for the "lift" rasermon... now I'm drooling for an '03 GT.Thanks to Dan Tobin for everything they did to make this meet go over well (mostly for the tent ie. SHADE). Thanks to Nick for putting this all together! All the pics look great, yet somehow they don't show just hot freakin' hot it was! Looking forward to the next meet!!! Now I must go and apply another layer of aloe-vera gel to my SUNBURN... OUCH!!!

Luckily they were closed, because I must have looked like a kid in a candy store running around there taking pics and drooling (on the GROUND, never the car), and if I had $50K to spend on a car, I might pick the Lotus over a Vette!, even though my largeness would not fit either very well, if at all!

I still gotta wonder who would try to take a nap in the hammer lane on I-270?

i should have known it was freestyle's vibe w/ the wrx scoop. he did a very nice job with it, quite professional and functional. of course, my hood scoop is also functional, but not as large (which i like). george's vibe looks great! nicely done, although maybe too loud for my tastes. really wish we could have gone, but of course, we just can't make it. all the compliments on rich's LIFT makes me miss the 'ol trdvibe. oh well....

I wish I could have made it to the Ohio meet. Too bad it wasn't closer. My car also got injured last week and is going to the shop today. So, it would have been in bad shape at the show too. Maybe next year, we'll see.

i know this was an ohio meet, but looking at those pictures were great and i didn't know about this thread until i accidently clicked on the 'ohio' topic! This sort of stuff should be posted in the lounge so that it's more visible! Stuff like this is great to see!looks like it was a good time!

Quote, originally posted by ColonelPanic »Pardon my stupidity folks, but what function does this serve on a vibe?In tuner mindset it adds about 20 HP, even if there is no opening to the engine. In reality, nothing, unless you have an inter-cooler or a ram-air intake. Only conceivable thing I could see is that it might cool the engine bay down a little. Just an appearance thing. Kinda like a spoiler on a minivan.

Hey everyone! It was another great meet. Sorry we were so late! I even missed the raffle and we missed out on the hot food, but that's ok. We won't get lost next time! Kudos to the dealership for hosting and the food and the cold drinks! The drinks were very refreshing in the heat of the day and the shade from the tent was a nice refuge! It was great to see everyone again and meet some new people! Everyone was so friendly as usual! Every ones car looked great! We also had a nice time and some good food at the restaurant during the after meet. Thanks to everyone that came to our suite for a few drinks, great conversation and laughs. We enjoyed every ones company! Later in the week I'll be sending the dealership a thank you note for being so generous! Hopefully there will be a meet this fall, close enough for us to make. I do have another vacation during the week of Oct. 22nd.! Hint hint Joel, I hope your sunburn isn't to bad, take care of that! I was lucky this time, not to badly burnt as I was at the MI. Meet! Thanks again to everyone behind the scene that made this Ohio meet a success!

yeah scoop makes a nice visual statement and there is a hole in the hood, just dosent seem to serve much a purpose its not anywhere near the intake and it blows in on the engine cover , hum , may cool the engine a bit but, heah its looks pretty cool pretty nice ride

yup thats an STI scoop... maybe I should mount a turbo on my car with an intercooler right there under the hood and have a functional STI scoop, cause that looks sweet.

by AKLGT
it's not bad, but i think it looks a little too big for the rest of the car. maybe a regular wrx scoop?
