Cats, Boxes and Moving

As some of you know we just bought a house which we get posession of in about a week. So its been packing central around here. There are boxes in various states of emptiness/fullness all over the living room. Well my cats just LOVE boxes. So this morning Odi jumped in a box on the floor and was just sitting in it looking around. Yoda came up and tried to oust him out of the box but Odi was having none of that and smacked Yoda. Yoda yowled and then slunk away. Next thing I know Yoda's sitting in the box right beside Odi's box with his back to Odi. As if to say "Well fine I got my own box." Odi eventually leaves his box and 5 second later Yoda's out of his box and sitting in Odi's box. Oh those cats!!Here's some pics of the fur babies in boxes...

They're excited now by the boxes, but they will be scared for a week once the movers show up.

Cats are just the best! Despite their reputation of being allof and independent, my five are the exact opposite. Since I don't know how to attach multiple pics, there's this one.

my cat loved the boxes after my move as well. however, she doesn't just play inside them, she also likes to eat them. a friend of mine came by to pick up my extra boxes for his move and was rather curious about all of the semi-circular gnawed holes.

Good luck on your moving. Hope the cats adapt well to their new home. I love cats......hate moving. We moved to a different house a couple years ago after being at our old house about 17 years.....wow we had a bunch of stuff to move. (and throw out).

One night I emptied a 12-pack of diet Coke, so just for fun I opened up the other end and threw it on the living room floor. Andy (my cat) went NUTS playing with that box! He'd dive in one end and sliiiiiiiiide across the floor, crawl out the other end, go around, and do it all over again. He did that for hours--my boyfriend and I were in tears laughing at him! So I just leave the diet Coke box on the floor now and when he's not eating the corners of the box, he'll play in it or sit in it. The simple things in life! Those cats are all SO cute!! Everybody has beautiful babies!

I just had to chime in and tell everyone I love cats as well. My one cat, Quincy, has figured out how to open the back door. So, we have to make certain to keep the deadbolt locked or he will let himself out. He is a very smart cat. He will just sit and watch what you are doing and will then emulate you and eventually learns how to do things. He will turn on the water in the bathroom for my other cat, Ben, who loves to drink out of the faucet. When Ben is done, Quincy will turn off the faucet.I love my cats, they are awesome.

Another Yoda and the box story...You know those kleenex boxes with the plastic film that you pull the kleenex through? Well one night Yoda found an empty kleenex box and stuffed his head through the plastic film. He was walking around with this kleenex box stuck to his head! So we watched him for a couple of minutes and he managed to figure out if he wedged it between two things he could pry his head out and so he did eventually get his head out on his own.

Cats seem to love garbage to play with the best! Ours loves gallon milk rings, tinfoil balls, boxes like yours and anything else that he should in some cases not be playing with. He does have favorite toys, like a dog.

This was kinda wierd to read, cause Sputnik's gray cat, either Toni or Toot (the front one), and Gargoyle's cat look exactly like our last 3 cats. Our gray one was awesome - he was a beast, 26 pounds at his heaviest but only about 5lbs overweight according to the vet. Sometimes when he slept he'd snore so loud you'd think there was a 200lb guy behind the couch.Good luck with the move. I hope you finish unpacking before the end of the year! (If it was us, that wouldn't happen).
