It's a total they foung a grack in the tranny case and it was enough to put it over the top. The adjuster was great. I was first told it was a total and then was told maybe not when the vehicle value was higher than expected. The Gt tranny cost enough to replace with some consideration that there may still be more hidden damage to write off car. They deducted $300 for a rear bumper scuff, gave me a couple hundred for my wheels and are giving me $15,000 for a very well equiped 03 GT with 47K mi. plus they will pay the sales tax up to that amount on a car purchase. I'm not happy about the whole situation but I think that's actually quite fair and feel good about Allstate as a carrier. I really did feel like I was in "good hands". Depending on what I get next and it looks like it will be an 04 Mazda 6s wagon, I may have a unichip and stock 16" alloys to sell.
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)
yep. too difficult to get the springs off at this point i'd say. i didn't have time to take mine off either unfortunately, so they went with the car, along with the leather interior, heated seats, custom painted interior, etc. sounds like they gave you a VERY VERY good deal on your car! kinda wish i'd totaled mine now! then i'd not have lost $4600 in the trade!

Yep, the chip is in my hands. I knew that I'd have to remove it in case it was a total. I wasn't a racer but like a tight car and didn't care for the SUV ride height so I did the suspension. The springs and rear bar would have cost as much to pull as they're worth so why bother and I didn't want to get into talking to an adjuster about performance mods since I plan on staying with Allstate and my next car probably will stay stock. I'm sure having the moonroof and side bags also helped the value. I'm having a heck of a time finding a stick Mazda 6 wagon. I may have to settle for an auto. At least it will have enough power to handle one. I hate buying cars under the gun. In the last month I had the car, I was playing with spark plug gap on the IK-20s, did the bypass caps on the battery and found a really smooth and quite oil mix I really liked. It was finally sorted and ready for a long stay. Passengers noticed without being asked. I'm dissapointed to be loosing it after making it mine but stuff happens and it was great fun while it lasted. If anybody wants a recommendation for a great car, get a 03/04 Vibe GT/Matrix XRS with TRD/Pro-Kits and a progress rear bar and a unichip.
