New to Vibe, definitely not to GM

First off, quite possibly some of you may know me, I run the GM Enthusiast Network, which includes j-body.org, ecotecpower.com and now gmdelta.com. I've been in the GM community for 8 years now, and it all started out with my 97 Cavalier. This weekend I had it with the Cav, the power steering going out was the straw that broke the camel's back. I had been eyeballing several cars in recent weeks, but the frontrunners were the Cobalt and Vibe. After visiting several Chevy dealers, and getting thoroughly annoyed with the salespeople, I stopped at a Pontiac dealer, and was pleasantly surprised with the people there. They were fun to deal with, and there was no BS between us, everything was upfront. Only 2 hours later, and not so much as a test drive, I walked out with the keys to an 05 base (with power package and monotone appearance only). It wasn't really a whim, I have driven the Vibe before, and I really love the way it looks. Being a GM guy, I was very much informed about what I was getting into.So now it starts - sure its supposed to be the wife's car mostly, but its just such a fun little car, how can I say no to modifications? And once the Cav is gone (I'm ditching that thing ASAP) we'll be an all Pontiac family with a Sunfire and now the Vibe.

I've visited j-body.org quite a few times back when I had my '01 Cavy Z24 and occasionally for some help with my sister's '98 Cavy. Definitely some great resources you run over there.Quote »I walked out with the keys to an 05 base (with power package and monotone appearance only). Auto or 5-speed?Enjoy your stay.

Quote, originally posted by MiVibe-ToolGuy »Close to the GM AZ Proving Grounds? I'm in the northwest valley, exact opposite end of town. Its about 40-50 miles from here to the proving grounds. I'm sure I'll be making my way over there from time to time, however.

Although we're on opposite ends of the valley, it's great to "see" someone local. For me to drive to Peoria, I'd need to pack a lunch...

Welcome. I was also a member of Jbody. I had a 2000 Sunfire GT that I traded in on a Vibe GT.
