If therecould be some sort of way we could have made a piece of lexan that would cover the entire opening of the fog lamp area. This piece should be removable for cleaning. It would be more-or-less flush with the moulding. this would be able to protect the Lamp as well as making a slight improvement in the aerodynamics. this picture would basically show what i am talking about.Unfortuatly I do not have the knowledge or the tools to implement this Idea. Maybe somehere could expand upon the idea and get something that would actually work.

Not a bad idea, you could make a template out of thin cardboard then use it to mark the lexan. I am going with the Jeep CJ-7 turn signal rock gaurds myself, they are only $12 and I believe I can fit them without too much difficulty. I see what you're saying. That would look pretty cool.Mounting it would be a trick though, I doubt without drilling a couple of small holes in the fairing. I wouldn't be opposed to it though. Even on the '05 the grills in the foglight area are false - they let no air through so you're not losing any air flow. It sure would give the front a smoother look!The idea of using a wire mesh is a good idea too - but cleaning the bugs out of those can be a chore. (now that I look at the attachments - it's not that fine of a mesh to cause a problem... n/m)Too bad someone doesn't make a lexan cap like GTS makes for a few cars. I had GTS headlight and fog light covers for my 87 GT Mustang. Looked very nice blacked out.Maybe if we voice our opinion to GTStyling.com they'll develop some products for the Vibe?

I'll play Devil's advocate...How will it attach?Will it attach cleanly or have exposed points? Like the other Lexan covers that you can see the velcro that holds them on...kinda ghetto...sorry!How will you keep them watertight? Not watertight and they will be full of condensation...Will they be curved to match the contour of the bumper?Those just came to mind in the 2 minutes it took to type this...

They do not have to be water tight. If there is sufficiant airflow condinsation will not be an issue. Not the same thing as the OP was asking about...

The Problem with covering the entire area is this is also where your front brake get their air, cover the entire hole, and you'll be more apt to warping rotors. MI-Tool Guys design covers the lamp/lens itself, but doesn't block the opening to air.

Where does the air pass to get to the brakes? Through the invisi-vent? There is NO direct path for air to travel to the brakes. The light itself completely blocks the opening and there is so much other stuff behind the light/inside the bumper cover that air cannot reach the rotors.

aren't the brakes pretty damn well in the open already anyway?
