First impressions of snow and the Vibe.

Drove my Vibe in the snow for the first time wed. morning. First impression: It's not very good at getting traction. This may be in part my fault. It's been awhile since I drove a stick in the snow, not to mention one with 192HP. LOL Once I got going, it was fine. I know my GA is lowered and has braces all over, and it gets better traction, but the rear slides out easy because of the stiffening. Maybe a set of Blizzaks would help the Vibe.

I found that on a flat road, the Vibe really handles the snow. On a hill, it is a bit tough. Maybe the weight distribution has something to do with it but I did have some trouble on the hills. Of course it was about 6 inches of snow that hit the area by surprise, so the roads weren't really treated.

Not bad I would have to say. Although we only got 4 inches of snow it handled pretty well. Im sure if I got better winter tires it would ride even better

We had 6-7" fall last week. The Vibe felt a little insecure in the new snow as well as on the plowed-but-packed-down roads. Not nearly as bad as the rear wheel drive cars in my past, but less stable than my just-sold Saturn SW2. That car had Firestone Firehawks and I'm wondering if they were just plain better than the stock 16" tires on the base Vibe.
