Ok, I searched and found this question hasnt been asked. Will the header from a Celica GT-S fit on the Vibe GT's engine, or fit the car, that should be? Thanks.

It fit the matrix with minor modification

I was under the impression that the stock header was pretty good in itself. Why go through the trouble? What kind of gains can it offer?

Thanks Andrew. Any idea if they are coming out with a header just for the matrix or vibe? Flip-side: Factory headers are always more restrictive than aftermarket. They dont smooth them out polish them from the factory, which will give you nice performance gains.

There are all ready a few headers available. All the info I have seen on them is they end up hurting performance. 3 XRS owners over at matrixowners.com bought headers and installed them on their 2ZZ and within a month all 3 had put the stock manifold back on. They said their acceleration went down and the lift didn't hit as hard.Toyota designed the stock manifold very well. It actually looks kinda like a header to begin with. It you want more performance just have your stock exhaust manifold bored by a machine shop some where locally for you. This will probably pick you up a few ponies.

Hmm, ok. Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I'll spend the money on something else.

OK they may not have "felt" more power does not mean they did not make it, or go faster... I would have dynoed the car before taking them off.... there is a big difference between "feeling fast" and running fast.... most people expect the throw you in the seat torque... not going to happen with a 1.8L engine.

They did dyno it. At least one did and the low end torque the engine had was really hurt and it only added about 2 HP high up in the power band. Not worth the money by any means.

Cool, so I wasn't wrong about the stock manifold being pretty good by itself. My buddy told me to mabey bore and polish, but thats all. It's an excuse to save some cash any-hoo.
