I'm looking into tinting because one I live in Florida and to I think it would look better. How much was yours though? And what does the percentages mean?

Ther percentages are the amount of light let through. 50% means 50% of the light is let through. 35% let's 35% through. 35 seems to be the most recommended as far as visibility and legality. A lot of people put lower in, but some complain it is a problem with night time driving.I think most are paying close to $200 to have it done. I'm hoping to get mine done this next week while I'm in Houston.

I'm going to look into that too... I think dark windows will complement my Frosty quite nicely. Anyone know what is legal in Indiana? (sorry, not meaning to hijack your thread, just sharing your inquiry )

I have 50% on the front and 35% on the rear. I paid $280 + tax and I wasn't too happy with my shop.

50% Front / 20% Rear = $220 (Ohio)

5% rear, 35% front, Formula 1 metallic tint.$235 (Cali)

5% rear and 15% front = $240 for 3M tint. Dark looks better because of the black frames around the windows.

on the ex-vibe gt:50% front, 35% rear $250on the current sube:35% front, 20% rear $175 (friend's business)i now wish i'd gone with 20% all around. but it's illegal here to have any tint on the fronts and only 40% on the rears...

I'm curious as to what tint everyone is using in their car. The shop by my work uses a film made by Lumar. Anyone know anything about this film?

I don't think there is a tint law in Indiana cuz my brother's friend has a pathfinder with 20% all the way around and even on the front windshield.Inder

I've got Llumar tint on my car (35%.) This is the third car I've had tinted, and this is the best film yet. Still looking good after a year whereas the last junk used on the other cars was already looking kinda crappy by that time.

The guy with the pathfinder just hasn't got caught yet. Not sure about up north, but down here some of the smaller localities really like to crack down on illegal tint.To answer gargoyle's question, 30% looks like the magic number here in Indiana... Lasted 5+ years on my contour and sold it looking perfect even with power windows going up and down. Never cracked or discolored.

Got mine 35% on the front and 20% the rest of the windows, all for $150 locally (front windows are illegal in Ohio, are only supposed to be 50%).

05 Abyss, 20% all around, $200 CDN.Looks great, feels even better (I hate the bright sun, I must have been a vampire in another reality) LOL.Legal in Ontario is 35% for front doors, no limit on the rears.

5% rear and 25% front - $180 out the door. The same business I always go for all my cars...Black Diamond Window Tint in Valencia, CA. they handle the BMW, Toyota, and Lexus Dealerships out there

Sunfree Autosports did mine here in CO for about $250. They did an outstanding job. Used 35% all around.

5% rear 43% front. 150$ (dealer discount)quality was nothing to brag about. at least i dont have bubbles.

35% all around = $275.00. Street Scenes Tint did a Kick a$$ job!
