The original is one of my faves. I hope they didn't ruin it.remember: spitting is a disgusting habit.

it's much more true to the book than the original. they kept a lot of the same dark themes and the same semi-spooky feeling, but in a much more approachable wrapper. one of the things that was brilliant about the original willy wonka film was the diversity of the humor. there was a lot there that i didn't get as a child that keeps the film enjoyable now as an adult. there's not quite as much of that, but the humor that is there is exceptionally well executed. given that i've been anticipating this movie for over a year, and i walked away with as big of a smile as i did, i'd say it was a brilliant film.

I went and saw it, needless to say I hate going to the movies alone but I forced myself to go. No movie is typically ever better than the original. The OG was more upbeat and lively with how it was done. The remake by Burton, to me seemed more vivid as whole. Some of the actions in the new one were hightened a bit farther than the og, but just enough that it wasn't pushed too far.I can't say that it was better than the original, but if you did like the original then you will most likely enjoy this one. I'm waiting to check out Burton's Corpse Bride, looks like they just extended A Nightmare Before Christmas to a second part tho.

I'm still a fan of the original but I really liked this one too.It was pretty similar in plot line...some things were changed like Veruca Salt wanting a trained squirrel who was finding bad nuts instead of a goose that laid golden eggs...but the basics were all the same. I can't remember the ending of the original so I'm not sure if that was different or not. But it was still very enjoyable. Quote, originally posted by Mr. Poopypants »HMMM, cute?
