I called my local Toyota dealer and they told me it would be $130 for a coolant flush. That's US dollars too, so wouldn't Canadian dollars be quite a bit more than that? Sounds like you got quite the deal.

Just curious why you went to Toy. rather than GM for the service?

Toyota uses the same coolant your Vibe came with from the factory. That would be Toyota Long Life Red for a 03/04 or Toyota Super Long Life Pink for a 05. GM doesn't have the Toyota stuff so they use DexCool for a 05 and another GM coolant for 03/04.Also be aware that not all flushes are the same. Some are just manual and some use a machine. That is most likely why the big price difference above.

If you go to GM they will put Dexcool in it, that's a certainty. It's not something to be concerned about since it's a complete changeover and the 2 coolants won't be mixing. Contrary to popular opinion there's nothing wrong with Dexcool.I'll be doing a flush on my 03 shortly and installing Dexcool. The nearest Toyota dealer is 100 miles away so that's out of the question. I'm just going to pull the drain plug in the block, open the petcock on the rad and let her drain. Then follow that up with a few minutes of flushing with the garden hose. Then refill with Dexcool and distilled water. It should only take about 20 minutes max and cost about $20.

from my experience so far the gm service guys have very little knowledge on the vibe, I found this out in the first week I had the car. After that I said to myself that I am going to to GM for warrenty work and toyota for something that I have to pay for.
