Hello fellow Vibe owners from Michigan! I was wondering if there would be anyone interested in meeting up this upcoming summer and showing off our Vibe's to each other and sharing tips and stories. Maybe do a late lunch or early dinner than take a parade cruise of the local streets? I am not really sure how to organize such an event, but I would be willing to do all I could. Please let me know if anyone is interested.

im heading north this summer for a few days, and if you guys get together around then im game, so just keep us all posted, and maybe some people from the northern mid-west will drive up and have a good showingyogi

I'm from NY but I got no response whe I asked about setting up a meet in this area. I have never been to Michigan and I have plenty of vacation time so I would be willing to drive there for a meet. Take a 3-4 day weekend and show off my Vibe.

I live in Imlay City, and work in Grand Blanc. I would be interested in a meet somewhere in the Flint/Swartz Creek/Fenton/Grand Blanc area.-BradAbyss monotone Vibe GT

I'll be watching for particulars. You never know.. I might make it and I'm sure that other Ontarians would be interested. It would be neat to make it an International event. Might I suggest that the Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village at Dearborn would make an interesting rallying point. What about the potential to have a camping jamboree somewhere?

That would be okay, but might I suggest the local Swartz Creek Dairy Queen restaurant? They do car shows every month (small time, 'cause this is a small town... the best). Maybe I'm being petty in pushing this little place, but it's, like, only 1/4 mile away! They do have great attendance and it's always fun, so give this a thought, okay?

Could you perhaps hook this up to the same timelines as another major car show or the like? Certainly have no problem with the small town idea. That would be nice! Probably a weekend so that you poor working guys/gals can spend some time (we retirees are on weekend time all week). Anyway, I'm watching and eager to learn more.. By the way the Canadian Street Rod Nationals are on in Windsor the last weekend in July. A good fit?

Fenton sounds like a great area, especially if there is a good place with plenty of room to meet at! Sorry everyone for not responding sooner, but for some reason I wasn't getting email notification telling me that I was getting responses. And this is not just an invite to owners in Michigan. Any other members that want to make the trip are more than welcome to join us! We would love to have you!

rasermon and I have been talking back and forth and we are definately looking at a Saturday in June. We will keep everyone up to date as we get more information on an exact date, time & location.

If your going to plan something for Fenton you might want to get a hold of Joseph Pontiac, who knows maybe they will offer something.

We will be looking at a lot of possibilities in the next month for a location. It will more than likely be a Saturday in June. We need to finalize a location before anything else and seriously look at what it will take to be able to get together there.

I am in the south side of Lansing, just off of I-96. I agree that we should find somewhere in the middle of everyone, but this is going to be difficult. Regardless of what we do, the locations is going to be closer to some than to others. I think we should consider that some members from Canada, Indiana, Ohio or Illinois may want to drive up here also. When we get everything finalized, I will create a new thread in the Events forum so that maybe some others who would be interested in attending could come.

I graduated from Bay City's Handy HS there on the west side way back in '60 and have friends living there on Wenona. What a city that was! Still is! Beat Central! Go team!

I think we may have decided a location with the recommendation from rasermon. The Mid Michigan Motorplex in Fenton. We are going to be getting together very soon to iron out the details. We will let everyone know as soon as we do.

Hello CaCathy13, We have a location picked out, but still trying to decide on the day for the month of June.

It might also be in July Cathy. It will definately be a Saturday though. We just have not come up with a final date yet. We will have a lot of information when we do though. You can count on that.

I tried something similar to this last year right before the Woodward Dream Cruise but it was a bust.Not to mention I know some folk in the Metro Area Dont like new cars or tuner cars in the Cruise So where would be a good place to meet

Okay, here is the scoop everyone.We were originally looking at meeting at the MidMichigan Motorplex. It would be a great place to do it. The date they have available is Saturday, June 28th. The catch: It is $950 for half a day. If you want to use the dragstrip and the employees to run it, it is $1900. That is a bit pricey for a meet that we are not sure of how many people would come. We would like to find something cheaper or free like a large parking lot or park that we could meet at.If there are any suggestions, please post them. We need a location so that we can make the arrangements soon. Summer is almost here already and we don't want to miss out on having a great time!

Glad to see it's coming together. When we plan Grand Am meets here, we just really have them in parking lots...there is a Super Kmart here that has a huge lot so we go there most of the time. And then we go to a nearby restaurant....with a big parking lot, of course! Normally no one minds since we park in the back where no shoppers park...and at the restaurant we're bringing in a lot of business. I'd offer to help but I don't know anything about Michigan...lolChances are I'll take the Friday off before and drive up during the day and get a hotel...hopefully some of you guys can hang out the night before...or at least give us directions to a do it yourself car wash.... And don't forget to post an actual address....so the out of town folk (like me) can Mapquest their way there.
