Well the dealer called me finally saying they have a Grey and a silver vibe in for me to test drive and look at. Just wondering what ppl here thought was a better color. I live in MN so it might get dirty They are 2004 base models, I think its moonstone (grey) and platinum (silver) :S?

either color would be fine, if it were me it would come down to what options each had (and price too of course)the silver one (I guess platinum) would show contrast more if it had the unpainted cladding, if that is a factor in your personal preference.Since I have a sliver Vibe I voted for platinum, but moonstone is also quite nice

they have the same features and same price. They have the plastic cladding on the bottom part also.

I would pick the moonstone (great colour, goofy name) over the platinum (boring colour, great name).I may be partial only because I absolutely despise any of the silver coloured cars.Yes, they don't show the dirt as much, and don't generate as much radiant heat as the darker vehicles, but it just seems to be a dull (not exciting) colour.

I voted for moonstone because I'm partial to stone colors even though I end up with a Frosty Vibe.

lol, they are both auto's and have just about the same mileage 25k-26k. dang people, im sorta partial to silver, my last car was and i loved the color. Ive never seen these two colors though so tomorrow ill get to compare them side by side. Are they the same from 2004 to 2005, the colors that is (ive just looked on pontiac's site at the '05s)?

I'd go with the Moonstone. Silver is way too common. I look out my window here at work, overlooking the parking lot and there are 6-7 silver cars all parked in one area and it is the most popular color on the lot. I have Shadow, which is similar to Moonstone. I think it hides dirt great, better than silver, plus it is more unique.

Well, silver (satellite for me) would not have been my first choice if I had HAD a choice, but I NEEDED a different car and the satellite was what my dealer had--it had more options than I've EVER had before so I took it! My first choice would have been fusion since orange is my favorite color, but some decals from Grafxwerks took care of that, and now I love my little satellite (with metallic orange accents)--so I guess my vote would be the platinum. But the moonstone is a great color too!

I think that, with the base appearance package, go with the Platinum. The grey bumpers are close, but not exactly the same, color as the Moonstone. If you were getting the Premium apperance package, I'd recommend Moonstone over Platinum, however.

So which one did you decide to get?

I don't usually go for silver cars, but I love the Vibe in monotone silver. I bought mine used and so didn't really get to pick the color, but I love it. Moonstone is the most popular color at the area Pontiac dealer (NE OH). It doesn't look as awful as other colors during the snow/slush/sludge season. The one bad thing about the silver is that in the winter, the tailgate got really grey from the slush on the road. Moonstone would probably hide it better.

Well after seeing them side by side I picked the moonstone. It looked better with the 2 tone panel thing. The vibe goes to my mechanic on thursday and around 3pm then I will know if its a good car to get, if not I guess I get a silver one :/. The power on the base isnt that bad! after reading all these ppl say its under powered..its not that bad i think. i mean it doesnt throw you back but its not slow like a 90's eclipse gs/rs. I like it.... A LOT. second thing, the holder/tray thing under the shifter, is everyone having issues with it just opening, its loose on a couple vibes I looked at and the salesman said thats one of the things wrong with "all" vibes. not a big deal but just wondering. OH guess what, one of the fog lights was cracked, i asked if it would be fixed, but ill find out thursday if they can...got my fingers crossed.

The compartment opening is a known flaw and if I remember correctly, dealerships will fix it for free if you ask. It's not a recall, but a known issue. Mine wouldn't stay shut when I test drove it, but the replacement part stays shut nicely.Unless the seller has another buyer waiting in the wings, you can ask that he fix the fog light and any other issues as part of the deal.

It feels almost the same as my Accord coupe, which was a 5 speed, and "Phibes" has a slushbox. It zips along adequately, but I dfinitely WON'T be winning any stoplight drags, unless its against a SMART Twofour, or an ECHO!Or maybe even a granny with a baby carriage at the crosswalk!

HAHAH exactly, at least it sounds good while its "trying to" drag . It was zipping along on the highway with me and my dad in it, I have no problems with it except since its auto sometimes it isnt in the right gear to really accelerate fast enough. I need to sell my custom xbox for a cai

I like moonstone better, silver reminds me too much of white, which, in my opinion, is the worst color for a car.

Well the count down begins. at 3pm CMT I will get a phone call from my mechanic saying if he thinks the moonstone vibe is in good condition, then I if it is I pick it up friday or saturday...got my fingers crossed!!

I know what you mean, I couldn't wait to get mine. It's prolly killing you having to wait.On mine, I had the clay bar done, and the windows tinted 20% all around.I'll be sending the aluminum roof rails out for Black Anodizing in the next couple of weeks.I'm still in the "honeymoon" phase, as it's our one week anniversary today. That's kind of creepy isn't it? LOL.
