Another build date question

Just curious and thought I'd ask all you vets...I finally got my build date last month (its Dec 30). I called GM directly to get this info. What I find curious now is that my dealer still has no info regarding a build date. Is this normal? I know the dealer gets weekly updates... I'm just in no mood to call GM again right now to confirm my build date.

I'm in Ottawa too. Just call the dealership and ask to speak with the person in charge of placing vehicle orders for that dealership. They will call GM and get the current status of your file. Otherwise the dealership will only know what is recorded on their weekly update report.

Once You get your Order# from your dealership you can call GM as many times as you want, I found that my dealership was not that helpful, I presered getting info myself.

I never relied on my dealer for any build date info. I always called GM directly. Its just so much easier to go directly to the source. I was just curious as to why my dealer didn't have the same info that I did...

I got my build date (Jan. 6) from the dealer, and not GM (they have been useless up until now). You can always talk directly to their order manager (Jeanie). I would recommend talking to GM though. If you didn't get the best service from whoever you have been dealing with at GM, then ask for someone else. That's what I had to do. I'm waiting to hear if they can reduce my expected wait time from 30 weeks to something a little more reasonable [crosses fingers].Good luck to you.

The only way they're going to get you a more reasonable date is if they invent a time machine... that ship sailed a month or two ago. I just hope I can get 0% financing or something like that, but I'll probably miss out on the deal.Fatty

You know that all build dates are mondays and they indicate the week your car will be built.I hope that they won't be all lethargic and sleepy from all that turkey or hung over and tired from New Year's merry making. In your case maybe a Friday build date would be the best

I'm not too concerned as to what day its build on. I'll take a Jan 1st build vibe over a something like my old POS sunfire...On another topic. I would assume that the Nummi plant runs 24/7 to keep all that capital earning money. Can anyone confirm??
