What is that asparagus smell?

I have an 05 gt and time to time, I smell this burnt, aspargus-like smell. From what I gather, it is because I am revving the engine more than needed before the clutch is fully released and the engine engaged. Aside from learning how to drive a manual transmission better, is there anything that I can do to make it easier for the clutch to engage more smoothly?

hmmm...yeah, burning the clutch. Not the greatest thing.check out http://www.standarshift.com . It's a forum dedicated to driving the manual tranny. No advice is better than just practicing though.

If it's relatively new, let your dealer know about it, and MAKE SURE they put it in the file for the car.I had my clutch finally burn up around 26k and because none of the dealerships had noted that I had concerns about it, they chalked it up to 'driver error' and wouldn't replace it under warranty. The GT clutches are horrible, and even a cheapo 'stock replacement' clutch disc is better than stock.
