Trailer Hitches

Just got my Vibe last night and have a quick question: Can I put a trailer hitch on my Vibe? I read some posts that detailed the installation process but didn't know if the two tone Vibe and its cladding would prevent a trailer hitch. Also, anybody out there use a trailer hitch adapter that will allow 2" receiver bike racks to fit? I've got a rack for my truck that I want to use on the Vibe. Thanks for the help.Abyss, base, 5-sp, Moon and Tunes, Rims.

Thanks for the link. HAs anybody used a Hidden Hitch? I like the looks more than the Draw Tite.

I don't have a hitch yet, but both the Hidden Hitch and the Draw Tite's installation are basically the same.It looks like the Hidden Hitch (hence the name) is designed a little more unobtrusive and looks more rounded compared to the straight bar-type look of the Draw Tite.Depending on what you like and what price you want to pay, either one should be great.

Sounds good. I was just worried that the Hidden Hitch wouldn't work. On eTrailer it states that the Hidden Hitch can't be used with Vibes with a rear Fascia and I didn't know if my Vibe had a rear fascia or not. (dodn't even know if the fascia was an option)

(dodn't even know if the fascia was an option)I think they are more concerned with the Matrix, as a lower fascia extension (ground effect) is added to upper grade models. These would prevent the hitch from installing properly. No need to worry with the Vibe on this aspect, however. Now if you were to get the Vibe Sport Package in 2003 (adds front/rear and side fascia's), then you would have a problem. For Example:Matrix without rear fascia: Click hereMatrix with rear fascia: Click here

don't want to push my luck here but wanted to throw something else out there: Will I be able to use a 1 1/4" to 2" adapter in order to attach my hitch mounted bike rack that requires a 2" hitch? I have seen some adapters that require a Class II hitch for this. Would it be safe on a Class I which I assume the Vibe is? I really don't want to buy a new rack for the roof which is why I am so hung up on getting a hitch.
