Blower Motor Failure

Am I the only one who had his blower motor fail on all but the highest speed? I have less than 2000 miles on the Vibe. I did a search here and on matrixowners.com and on some Corolla sites and found nothing. I know this is a common problem on 99 - 2003 GM cars where the blower motor resistor fails. I had to change it twice on my Alero but I didn't expect the problem on the Vibe. Any thoughts? Being that I am still under warranty I guess I will give the dealer a call next week.

This is the first case of your particular problem that I think I've seen here... My buddy had his blower motor crap out entirely back when he had his Vibe, but aside from that I don't think we've had too many issues here such as that...Definitely sounds like the resistor... And yeah, I know what you mean about the resistor in other GM cars... Practically everyone I knew who had an 'N' body of that vintage had to replace theirs at least once. Oddly enough, I never had a problem with it on the '98 Malibu I had... But yes, it was quite an epidemic!

Thanks for your input. I will be sure and post when I find the cause.

Just got back from the dealer. The connector on the blower motor resistor board was loose.

CP--finally a problem YOU haven't had on your Vibe--you'd better get busy and bust that blower motor!
