Hi, Everyone:I'll be taking delivery of my new 2005 Base Platinum Vibe w/ Moon & Tunes tomorrow! Woohoo! This forum provided a wealth of information as I researched the car. In the back of my mind, however, I'm still kind of freaked about the paint chipping issue. For those that have the 3M Clear Bra: Are you satisified? Any discoloration or fading as a result of its application? Is it worth the $$? Props to all the great members here who continue to make this such an awesome site!

I talked to someone at the Michigan Super Meet 3 last weekend and they said that it is WELL worth the $$$ to get the clear bra and they said it is worth it to do it early on if not right after you get your Vibe! I'm thinking of doing that myself and he said something about a 5 year warranty of not peeling or yellowing at all. Sounds like a good deal to me... I just can't afford it right now Oh, congrats on the new Vibe as well... welcome to the family!

do it. and not just the clear bra, but the whole front bumper kit! have a pro do it, as i did this myself on my new sube and i'll tell you it's a royal pain in the (removed)! much much more difficult than i thought, not like with vinyl. but overall, i'm very very glad i did this as i'd have so many rock chips already!

I just started looking at these after seeing all the chips we managed to pick up recently. I found a site that sells them, looks like they are roughly $200 for bumper + hood + fenders + mirrors. Looks like it applies like tint - clean it, soap it, and squegee it.

He did the same, washed the hood, sprayed something down and then squegee time. Did it perfect to with no bubbles but I saw him lifting the corners to re-do several times till he got it right. But he did all the cars on the lot like that so he knew what he was doing.

installing the 3M clear film IS NOT like applying tint! again, it's much much thicker and a lot harder than just "clean it, soap it, and squegee it." the tint guy watched me put on the hood piece and made quite a few comments how difficult that looked, a lot harder than doing the tint. i did this myself, but i'll more than likely have to redo the hood peice as i'm not happy with it. i'd recommend having a professional install it!

Congrats on the new Vibe! I just bought one (same color, moon&toons)I do alot of night time driving on the highway and I'm seriously considering buying a "LaBra" for mine just to prevent cleaning thousands of bugs off during the summer months.Anyone use a La Bra on theres?

My brother and I have an interesting time trying to get the hood piece on. Hope, did you use any kind of alcohol while trying to apply the rockblocker? I can't remember the name right now, but by the end when we were doing the hood, it took the whole bottle of alcohol to get the tint slippery enough to move around to place in the right spot. And for the clear bra or 3M stuff, there is a pretty good site called:
http://www.rockblocker.com . That's where we bought my brother's stuff from. So, yeah.Inder

I have a LaBra, well I'm pretty sure the one GM sells for the vibe is the LaBra with the pontiac emblem on it.I don't have any complaints about it, easy to install. The hood piece has done a little damage to the paint but not as much as the bugs and rocks would've done by now.
