Its not too clear on the pic here but if you look at the picture where the guy with the sun glasses is on the drivers side (that was the CHP officer) behind him is his patrol car and infront of his patrol car is the semi. They had to move the semi after the accident to keep the traffic moving. I didnt think about taking pics of the semi but trust me the damage to it was minor.

Wow man....that looks brutal! Glad to hear you're alright. Hope your passenger heals up soon.I must admit, the Vibes are proving to hold their ground in collisions very well (judging by all the accidents of late!)

Did you manage to salvage anything from it?Well I dont know if you guys remember but I had been in an accident a few months ago that resulted in my wheels being damaged. 1 wheel was bent the other was really scratched. I didnt take anything off the car left it as its in the picture. I put on those wheels about 2 months after I got the Vibe so the stock wheels and tires are in way better condition that the ones on the Vibe they are like new so I decided to just leave them on. They still needed to move the Vibe around and since I dont have extra wheels to replace them with I just said forget it. They also called and asked if I had receipts for the intake and exhaust so they could add more value to the Vibe but its been almost 2 years since I bought that stuff so I dont have any of that. The insurance gave me $14,604 after a $500 deductible for the Vibe. It was an 04 with 28,000 miles. By the way I might need to get rid of the stock wheels once I decide Ill let you all know Ill take pics and post them later. Just have to make sure I have no use for them since all my dad, brother have a pontiac they might want them if they fit. If anyone is interested let me know and Ill make a priority to find out if I will sell them or keep them.

I know I couldn't even get a set of bolt-on 15" Grand Am wheel covers to line up with my 15" steelies I put on my car last winter when I switched to the winter tires... Bolt pattern is different...

It looks like a solid double-yellow line in the photo. That means "no passing" per the California Vehicle Code.Sorry if that statement is like salt in your wound, but I seem to remember you said is was OK to pass in the other thread.

I couldnt/didnt think about getting pics of the road. My break/tire marks on the road start on the dotted line (passing markings) but by the time I hit the semi I was in a no passing zone. The car that didnt let me pass was playing with me be4 I got to the no passing zone. I tried to pass him like I said be4 but he didnt let me.

I hope that person that wouldn't let you pass.A.) Got one hell of a sitation and...B.) Is responsible for paying for the damages.People that do that **** really (removed) me off, not only do they endanger us by they endanger themselves too just so they can look like a badass.

With that kind of impact, the radiator probably lost all of its juice, but that's red... However the windshield washer reservior was probably busted up too, so I wonder if what we see is a mixture of the red coolant plus washer fluid? Only thing I can think of...

If I were you, I'd make sure to go back to the scene and get photos of your skids (next to the dotted yellow) leading to the point of impact. I would NOT send the scene photos you posted to your insurance claims adjuster without the ones showing you were attempting to legally pass. I was a claims adjuster for well over 3 years and a claims adjuster trainer for another 3 and if someone were to send me those photos, I would immediately think you were 100% liable for the accident. Unfortunately, I think you'll likely be found liable anyway because there was no impact with the phantom car (that’s the term insurance adjusters use for a car that causes an accident without any impact and flees), but the photos you posted by themselves would be the "nail in the coffin".I'm really glad you both escaped with relatively minor injuries. To this day it amazes me to see how some people can walk away from a head on collision and other times they can be permanently maimed or worse. Is your passenger a good friend? In California, they are considered a negligent free 3rd party and they could collect well into the five figures from your insurance company for an objective injury (like a broken ankle).
According to ROY G. BIV, red and blue DO make purple. Glad you are ok Wicked....the only word I can think of to say is, well, wicked. I don't know that I'd want to get behind the wheel again after that one.
