Yeah, we are around 2.19/gal. here. It is going up though. I'm not happy about it, but what can you do, the oil companies have us by our goodie bags.

There is such a demand and they can not supply enough and oil is not everlasting.... do you really believe that? maybe in the long term.as for short term, how do the oil companys warrant a price increase from $2.08 on thursday night to $2.35 friday morning and back to $2.10 sunday.just wondering why.

Same thing happens here. Monday morning I paid 93.9 cents a liter and when I drove home it went up to a 1.02$ a liter. By Friday it should be down to .96-.97 cents a liter to jump back up Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning.BS is what I say. It is time people stood up to the oil producing companies!!

what pisses me off, is gas prices shoot up 10 cents overnight. When the gas station has had a fuel truck come in the last 7 days. So they bought the gas when it was cheaper and they are still charging the higher price even though it hasn't effected them yet.

I just heard yesterday that the price of a barrel of oil is up over $60 dollars now. And in this area I heard that might result in gas prices around $2.50 a gallon.

I got gas for $0.844/litre last week. That gas will last me until next weekend since I drive so little.

To allIf you want to see a very interesting documentary, on that subject, try to see " The End of Suburbia - Oil Depletion and the Collapse of The American Dream ".Basically, there is no quick fix here, no alternative energy source (hydrogen, solar, wind, biomass, ethanol, nuclear) could supply the energy needed to run our economy the way it is run now.If this documentary is right (or even half right), we are in for a big wake-up call, and that stupid suburbia life style will hit a wall.Anyway, I encourage you to see this, that was a real eye opener for me.P.S.: I don't buy the documentary position 100%, but still, I don't think it is off the mark either.

I haven't seen the documentary, but I can say that hydrogen is probably our best alternative fuel possibility. It's the most abundant element in the universe. You can even use it with other alternative fuels.Put up solar panels on the tops of buildings to electrilize water and harvest the Hydrogen from that.

China and India's growing thirst for oil, which will only get worse, is going to cause the gas and oil issue to only get worse, too.Right now, everything is operating at near capacity to supply the world- but China's & India's (& the rest of SE Asia's) consumption will continue to grow exponentially. Crunch time is starting.(Hence our foreign policy to secure oil assets in the Mid-East, since non-US friendly governments might happily negotiate with Aisa leaving us nada. Despite what you may have read otherwise, this is why we're over there. But this belongs in another forum)PS- There is an excellent analysis of the oil situation in the June 10 edition of "The Spear Report", an investing newsletter, of the potential impacts of all this on financial markets and how our attempt to secure the ME reserves has failed.
