I'm not sure about yours, but if I recall correctly, his is an AWD which complicates things some from what I understand.

Congrats on the B-day gift! Its a good one!I put Hotchkis Springs on my AWD Vibe about a month ago. Here is the thread: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=16648I used the instructions on MatrixOwners.com here: http://matrixowners.com/forums...38353The rear springs are a bit different though, since it is an independent rear suspension. If you decide to do it yourself let me know and I can let you know about what I did with the rears. Drivers rear took almost 2 hours the passenger rear took just under 30 min once I figured out what I needed to do.

If you do not know what your doing, its wise to spend the money and get it done right somewhere. Some people have the tools and the know how and can do this in their driveway. But the job requires car jacks, car stands, tools to remove the struts from the front suspension and steering and the rear struts from the frame. You also need a spring compressor to remove the old springs and install the new ones. As well as make sure the angle is the same when mounting the rear springs on the rear struts. Book time for this job is around 4 hours but straight time, any mechanic can get it done in 2 hours or less.My friend helped me change mine and he had the tools, 2 hours later we were done.

i helped install mine w/ the help of a client mechanic. took about 2.5 hrs with power tools and all the equipment. can't imagine trying to do it w/o all the tools! if you don't know someone who knows how to do it, then it's worth spending the money to have a reputable garage do it.
