This is a legit study. If you search the web, there are also a bunch of kids science fair projects that have done similar tests (not including the illegal drugs of course)The tests referenced above were published in:NASA Tech Briefs 19(4):82. No hoax. I remember reading an article in Popular Science about 8 years ago that had spiders building webs on different controlled substances. I am not sure if caffeine was one of those cause I can't remember. But this reminds me of something I saw on the way home from work today. A convenience store had a sign outside that said "Try our new Cappachino, Three times the caffeine."
