05s dont have chrome on the door?

yes it took me almost a year of ownership to notice, and no since i didn't notice that does not mean i can do without!!!what the heck. are they available as seperate parts yet? i need to add this.ugh

Someone was asking about this a few weeks ago in a different thread because theirs was scratched up, and it apparently is not available separate from the rest of the door panel. So if you want it really, really bad, you can replace the whole door panel...or you can just see if Ryan from GrafxWerks could make you a chrome overlay for what's already there.

yea i saw that thread. there was never an update on the grafx ones coming out. did he get some made?

My 05 looks just like the picture but i wouldn't call it chrome. Are you saying your 05 does not have that metal or do you have that metal but it's not chromed?

Okay mine does have the "chrome" stuff around the window switches, but does NOT have the "chrome" pipe thing running under it. That's the same gray plastic as the rest of the door, and appears to be part of the rest of the door.I do believe that's not on 05s. I suspect Pick maybe thinking of the plate around the switches, and not the rounded strip running under it.

ya for some reason my buddies 04 trix does not have that chrome tape peice on his car either...looks bad with out it........thought it was weird.p.s. it was me who posted the ? about the scratched strips on mine.

Gotcha, yes my 05 does not have the Chrome strip. Just good old plastic.

Yes, you're correct - the chrome door trim on the 2005 model has been replaced with the black perforated vinyl stuff which looks similar to what is on the center of the steering wheel... The silver trim around the door lock/window switches remains the same.Don't know why they got cheap and eliminated that, other than they got sick of replacing people's door panels where they were getting the chrome scratched off.

I sent ryan the dimensions and a flat design. haven't hear back yet though.

I would rather not have that chrome tape. Mine is in really rough shape - my leg rubs against it when I drive.
