not hard. like anything else in this car, pry and ye shall release.pull up on the bottom side (seat bottom) and it comes loose and then slide down to release the top.

My concern would be that in an accident, you might be messing with the "spring travel" and could be setting yourself up for injury.Interesting, though!

reviving this thread...

anyone know if you can put a passenger seat backing on the driver seat back?

Reason I ask, somehow I broke the springs in the back of my driver seat and now they poke out, possibly injuring passengers behind me...

thoughts?
