(Went 4 yrs of college but didnt get anything to show for it . ) Thinking its time to go back.Maybe something in Audio Engineering or Computer Repair.I enjoy both.

You have any insites on working for RadioShack? Do the employees in the stores know what they're talking about or just taking their best guesses? Are they well-trained by the managers before being put on the floor?Good luck for you and your future.

wow that's a big step! yes, i also went to college for about 5 yrs, but since i switched majors 3 times, and schools 4 times, it kinda screwed up all my credits. i did manage to get a AA just so i had something, but have about 14 more courses to go for my BA. i don't really have the desire to go back to school right now since there's no way I could give up working and just go to school full time. good luck and keep us posted in what you decide to do!

This is disapointing because they have great tools to train, they just dont seem to be taken advantage of. There is a hudge amount of stuff to know in order to perform well (at least what i would consider performing.) This does depend on the manager and the individual stores greatly!! RS has tended to promote top sales people into management rather than those who might be better apt at managing than sales. Granted you need a mangager who can sell to as part of their job is to direct and train sales people. When I started at RS I was not one much to force sales as i still am not, however I did have a love for helping the customer solve their electronics puzzels (getting all the right cables and adapters to get it all hooked up right)Now the company wants me to make sure every customer that comes in the door has a cell phone, if they already have one then they need a new one or an additional one, if it wasnt one we sold then we need to switch them. If you Love sales and work well with it, it can be a great place to work...It dosent fit my personaliy.....Now with my time off I can spend some time trying to find something that will fit my personality
