Did you know about secret warranties?

Just got the Lemon Aid book from Phil Edmonston in which he speaks about secret warranties that the car makers don't really make public. The book as always is a fantastic read, our cars though are rated as "average" buys lol. Check out his web page on secret warranties here:
http://www.lemonaidcars.com/secret_warranties.htmI was wondering if maybe we can follow his instructions about making complaints about our paint! What do you guys think?

LOL

Yep, it does smell like (removed)... There *is* a TSB on the matter, many have had that fixed, yet some such as myself have had the dealer choose to not do anything about the problem... If you have a dealer that actually cares, you may want to bring this to their attention. Otherwise, if they don't care, well, that's the boat I'm in right now. My (ex)dealer refused to do anything about it. "this won't be covered under your gm extended warranty or the emissions warranty" said mr. service advisor. Whatta jerk, he assumed that I didn't know squat about what I was talking about... No, I'm not bitter.

If you read the articles from Lemon Aid the author explains what to do in a case where the dealership refuses to service your vehicle. The rotten smell is a problem they are all aware of. I would try going now to the dealer with a copy of the TSB and asking them to do the repair. If not, speak to the Service Manager. If that fails speak to the owner of the dealership while letting GM know about your complaint. Call GM Customer Service and start a file regarding your complaint. If you need more help Colonel let me know. I will try to help you out the best I can

LOLDon't need a recall yet, unless your car is over 8yrs/80K miles. I just got mine done yesterday under the TSB (51K miles) under the 8/80 emissions warranty. If you havn't gotten it done, I urge you to! If the dealer says they can't duplicate, refer them to the bulletin, and remind them that it happens mainly on cool, damp mornings, and it might be hard to duplicate inside the shop, or on all that asphalt. That's what I said, and they did mine without question.

Good to see that some dealers will do the work now if they can all get on board it would be great
