BAH! Broken moonroof! =(

So my moonroof has been working without incident since I got the car 3 years ago. Yesterday, I went to close it, heard a vicious grinding sound. Reopened it, reclosed it a few times, no sound. Thought nothing of it. This morning, opened it on my way to work, went inside, and about halfway through my shift, I went out to close my windows. No problem. Roof closed normally. All is well.Shift ends. Going home. Go to open my moonroof, press the button, the motor starts up, but the roof stops. Eh? Thought maybe in the darkness I'd hit the tilt button. Tried the other one. No, that's tilt. Tried the regular one again. Quick motor then stopped. Hmmm...Got to the gas station, broke out a screwdriver, took down the controls. Thought maybe when I re-ran my XM wiring yesterday, I might have ran the wires in such a way they were catching on the gears. Yanked all the wiring away from the motor. Tried again. Opened a second, then stopped. Odd. I noticed what is happening, however, is the left side (driver side) is trying to open, but the right side (passenger) is jamming. ARGH!SO, I'm going to have to find SOME time somewhere to either yank the headliner myself (which I JUST did yesterday!) or pay another visit to Mr. Friendly Neighborhood Pontiac Dealer. Thank goodness for extended warranties!Stay tuned...

dude, that sucks. I got a stone chip in my windshield today, so it's just not a good day for either of us.

But it's below the wiper line, so I'm gonna leave it that way until I have no choice but to replace it -- in other words, 10/2006, when I have to go for state inspection. But I sense I won't have the Vibe anymore then!

The oddities continue!I yanked out the headliner this morning...I'm getting good at this too! Got it out in 20 minutes. Anyway, tried to see anything that was blocking the moonroof. Couldn't find anything. Kept opening and closing it, hoping to find what was snagging. No luck. Walked away to change the channel on XM, heard a snap. Didn't think anything of it. Went back to the car, tried again, the roof works perfectly. (removed)?????Tried it about 20 times. Opened and closed normally. So, all is well again, the headliner was yanked for nothing. I did remove the moonroof entirely, however, for the purpose of silicone greasing the rubber seal, because it was getting sticky every time the glass tried to go up down or back. And frankly, the stuff sprays everwhere, I didn't really wanna spray it all over the seats. And in case anyone is curious...YES, the glass is INCREDIBLY easy to remove!!!Pics later...
