I was so excited when I heard this yesterday. Finally the league got the NHLPA to agree to a cap.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/...80348I know it's not the end of the lockout but it is a HUGE step.

Come on now everyone, no NHL doesn't mean that there was no hockey. Let's Go Phantoms!!!

I know, I went to see a few Wheeling Nailers and Johnstown Chiefs games, it was enjoyable but it just wasn't the same.I was debating taking a trip to Wilksbarre-Scranton to see a Baby-Pens game a few monts ago, but that is a haul from here.

I agree. on my five hour plane ride home from Vegas I read all about the rule changes (I'm a goalie and have my own ideas about the "new" rules) and those stupid nets. Let's not make a circus out of a great game, I could care less if no one wants to watch it on TV!

All we ever hear is how "the americans are trying to ruin the game" ....it's so nice to hear (read) those words from somebody south of the border!i'm not holding my breath either on this one...and i REALLY enjoyed the OHL season this year. Actually went to a few games and it was nice paying $20 for good seats and watching some very exciting hockey!while the NHL IS the NHL, i have become a bigger fan of the OHL due to this strike...who knows, my 'dollars' will be split next year if they come back.

Not a problem, I have been playing the game since the age of 5, I'm 26, so yes I don't want to see the game ruined. I have always been a fan of the AHL since it has been here in Philly, I guess 10-12 years now. I have been to about 15 games so far this season including five playoff games. I have tickets to game four of the AHl championship this friday to, hopefully, see the Phantoms sweep the finals. Anyway, I would rather not see a pro league than have the game changed in "dumb" ways. On another note, I do agree with the goalie rules, now I do not think that changing the size of the leg pads from 12 to 10 inches or the blocker from 8 to 6 and the size of the catch glove from 48 to 40 will do much but the pants and chestprotector rules I do like. Also I "roam" around I do not wanna see a rule that does not allow me to leave the net area. 2 cents.

Let's not make a circus out of a great game, I could care less if no one wants to watch it on TV!I have to agree on the goalie aspect. Keep the pads and nets the same.I do agree with a few proposed changes. I like the touch-up offsides, getting rid of the red line in the two line passes, and the no touch icing. I am on the fence about the increased calling of obstruction.I think those rule changes would really open up the game and create more offense, much more than changing the goals or goalie equipment.
