Vibe over Matrix revisited

Once again, I am not dogging the Matrix owners one bit. However, it seems that I am not the only one with my opinion, but again, to each his own.To quote MotorTrend's December 2002 issue Pg. 57 bottom of the right page. "You might even go as far as to say the Vibe is a cleaner take on the sport-wagon theme than the aggressively scooped, skirted, and spoilered Toyota. And, unlike the Matrix, the Vibe doesn't look like it just went through a sport-compact-car swap meet with a magnet"

quote:the Vibe doesn't look like it just went through a sport-compact-car swap meet with a magnet"I have to disagree with this part of the statement. While I do like the Vibe better overall, I think the Matrix has a very smooth and stream-lined look. Sport compact ricers are anything but, especially with the useless wings, spoilers, wheel extensions, and certain over-exagerated body kits.Also...Motor Trend strikes me as the most biased and unconsistant car magazine to date. I am not trying to attack your opinion, but simply state my own on that part of the quote. Being said, I agree the Vibe looks better.

quote:While I do like the Vibe better overall, I think the Matrix has a very smooth and stream-lined look.My thoughts as well.I work with a Matrix owner and we frequently park next to each other, so I get to always get a good look at the Matrix. The Vibe was the first of the two I ever saw in person. It was and is still rare to see a Matrix in this area as well as at the dealerships. Vibe's are aplenty.I grew more on the Vibe's appearance in part due to the frequent visits I would do to my local Pontiac dealers. Both Matrix owner and I both love our vehicles and she likes the Vibe's design and I vice versa. I would still be happy with a Matrix.. it is just that the appearance factor of each vehicle is different enough to appeal to a wide variety of people contrary to what they write in the magazines.
