I'm not understanding what your question is. Are you saying everyone will soon be getting the employee discount or just asking what percentage the discount is?If it's the latter...the percentage varies depending on the type of vehicle it is. Different vehicles sell at GMS/GMO pricing for different percentages off. However, I don't think the structure is really based on a percentage at all, but rather something else, and I'm not sure what. You can usually estimate with percentages though. I believe the incentives on different vehicles also change over time depending on what they want to "push" at the time.

Except for the trade-in value if there is a trade-in, does that eliminate the haggling?

If i remember right they will be selling them for invoice price. Minus some sort of "incentive". Whatever that means. I forgot how much of a discount i got on mine when i was an "employee".

GM set to offer employee discount to all customersBy K.C. CrainAutomotive News / May 31, 2005DETROIT -- Now everyone will get the General Motors employee discount - at least for a month.According to dealers, GM will offer every customer the chance to get a vehicle at the employee discount rate, starting Wednesday, June 1.Not all details of the program are known, including whether the new discount replaces or is in addition to cash rebates. The deal applies only to 2005 model year vehicles.GM has been pushing a variety of discount programs to its employees and suppliers, and allowing them to extend the discount to a limited number of family and friends. The new program greatly expands the scope of the discount, particularly to areas of the country where GM does not have a large presence. The incentive means customers will be able to get a vehicle at a predetermined percentage below the dealership invoice price. Some dealers say the discount can amount to 4 percent off the invoice price. The program will cover almost every GM vehicle. The Chevrolet Corvette is excluded.According to GM, the employee discount is not a fixed amount, and the percentage varies per vehicle.GM is expected to announce the program Wednesday.

Here's a real-world example:I saw a 2005 Vibe at my local dealer last night.Abyss, Monotone, Moon & Tunes, 16" alloys, Power Package, and Automatic, just the way he usually orders them. Original sticker was just under US$21,000 ($20,995), including destination charge, before taxes. The "Employee Price" is just under $18,000 ($17,996.45) The fine print on 'Employee Pricing':[I}Excludes 2005 Chevrolet Corvette and medium duty trucks. Take delivery by July 5, 2005. See dealer for details. Tax, title, license, dealer fees and other optional equipment extra. See dealer for specific pricing details. You can go to http://www.pontiac.com (or I assume any other GM Division) and search dealer inventory. They show both the sticker and the 'Employee prices for each new vehicle.

I think that the current Vibe rebate is $1,000 whereas before 6-1-05 I think it was $2,000. That pretty much evens out the employee pricing. Plus, if the Conquest rebate is no longer available, you are paying $1,000 more than before. Looking at a Base Vibe with AT, Power Package and ABS the MSRP is $19,915 and the http://www.kbb.com invoice is $18,557, Add about $300 for the ad fees and the dealer invoice is 18,857. A dealer selling at $150 over cost would be about $19,000. SUbtract the former $2,000 rebate and you are at $17,000. The GM Employee price is now $17,067.65. "Much ado about nothing."
