I just installed a PAC AAI-GM24 in my 05 vibe with single cd/M&T. The PAC unit does not work. I spliced the power into the blue/white wire and the ground into the brown wire as instructed by others on this forum. The radio works fine but when i press the CD/AUX button nothinig happens. When I press the band button I can only select AM/FM1/FM2. What am i doing wrong? What does the 12 pin harness do? When i leave it unplugged it seems to have no effect as the radio works fine with out it. Also, the PAC unit has an accessory power light on it, should this light be on when the key is on?

1) The GM24 will not work with any version of the Vibe radio. It works with other GM vehicles that use a different class of radios. (I believe)2) The red wire on the GM24 is a switched power output, and is only meant to power seperate accessories, if you aren't using it to power something, do not plug it in. It will cause problems.3) The 12 pin harness is where the audio is. You won't get any audio without this.I believe the only thing that'll work is the Aux2Car input converter.http://store.yahoo.com/logjam/perphiaux2car.htmlI could be wrong on these..here's the thread aabout the aux2car. http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...age=1

In the following thread, Natron posted some email correspondence with PAC Audio, in which they indicate the AAI-GM24 works with the Vibe 1CD.http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...age=2You want to be sure you have the PAC 12-pin plugged into the radio (don't plug the original 12-pin into the PAC harness till you get it working). The original 24-pin connector should still be plugged into the radio. You should have only these 2 wires connected:Yellow - to blue/white wire at B1Black - to brown wire at A12.It seems you've got power though if the LED is on. A little "stack" of CDs icon should come on next to the CD icon for the single CD player on the radio display. This means the radio is seeing the aux unit (as a changer)Please post if you get it working or are still having problems.

The red accessory power light is not on. I have only connected yellow and black wires to the proper wires on the 24 pin harness. Also, i don't see a stack of cds on the display.

i think that i have a defective unit. I checked all of the connections again and notice that the power light on the PAC unit came on and then went off again. As i moved the unit around i noticed that the light would blink. Now i can't get the light to come on at all. I guess i need to exchange it for a new unit.

Sounds more like a bad connection. Did you splice your connections, or solder them.If it's anything but soldered, check them real well before you exchange.

i spliced both of the connections with wire nuts. i am planning on soldering the connections once i get the unit working. the radio works fine. i checked the connections to the pac and they are good.is there any way to check the unit to see if it is receiving power? like i said, the power light was coming on intermittently but now it won’t come on at all.

I would suggest talking with PAC on Monday. As part of the conversation I would double-check that it should work on the Vibe before getting another one.It does sound like a bad connection, though. Make sure the wire nuts aren't too big, and that enough of the wires are stripped. Good luck!

I checked all of the connections and could not find any problems. I am going to try to install a new unit this weekend.
