Waxing after new clearcoat.

Hi all... I Just got my Vibe back from dealer after getting the hood redone. When I got it originally I noticed a lot of chips, so dealer agreed to fix them. My question is how long should I wait before I wax it? I believe it was just the clear coat that was redone. (and yes I searched...)On a side note, got mud flaps put on... thought they'd be black, but are dark grey, oh well... Also as many people have mentioned, the bumper protector is a big waste of money, doesn't cover very much of the bumper, but I'm stuck with it now! Thanks in advance!!!

Yeah, I have some concerns about how soon I should wax. I just got my Vibe a couple days ago. Someone told me I should wait a couple months before waxing.

My wife had her hood replaced due to hail damage last summer and we were told not to wax for at least 20 days to let the paint and clearcoat cure. So, I would think that after a month you should be able to wax.

you should wait 90 days for fresh clear coat to cure completely

(and yes I searched...)It really depends on what was done to the car and how the paint was cured. If your hood was just touched up, I'd say you could wax it by now. A day or two to let it dry is fine for that type of repair. If the paint was baked after it was applied to make it cure quickly, I've been told that you could wax it the same day--though I would still wait a day or two. If it was allowed to just air dry and cure on it's own, then yes, it could take 2-3 months for it to fully cure depending on what type of paint was used.

Hi,Do you have any pictures of your Vibe with the new mud flaps??? I also have a 2005 Vibe in Abyss color and just ordered my flaps today. Just wondering how the dark grey looks against the black...Thanks, Dennis
