I agree that if you have a DVD drive and an LCD screen the next logical feature should be to let it play DVD movies. But Logical is not what car interior designers are known for being. And since the driver would be the last person in the car you'd want to be distracted by a movie, they probably assumed the screen should be used for "official" navigation only. In the old days, we could watch movies in our cars. You'd go to what they called a Drive-In. Cars would park in rows facing a huge screen. Speakers would be taken off posts and hung on your car window. Absolutely the BEST place to make out. And if you steamed up all the windows, privacy was insured. As for no sunroof with the NAV system... This is just a guess, but they have to put a GPS antenna somewhere, and it may reside in the roof space where the suroof is otherwise installed. It could also be that with the added interior brightness you get with a sunroof, seeing the LCD screen is more difficult or perhaps impossible. Just some thoughts.KSNeptune.

DVD originally meant "Digital Video Disc" but now since it can be used for high-capacity data storage, as in the Vibe DVD Nav system, the moniker is now "Digital Versatile Disk."Trivially yours,Earl

Here's a thought, DON'T WORRY ABOUT WATCHING MOVIES IN YOUR CAR. Try driving instead. Yes, some cars do come with DVD movie players but they are for the people in the back, not the DRIVER! My head hurts now.

When I bought mine, I was told by the dealer NOT to set anything metal on the dashboard because it could short out the GPS antenna.

Block, interfere with, render inoperative I would go along with, but you do not "short out" an antenna that is not physically exposed. I can't believe how DUMB some dealers and car salespersons are. When I was shopping for my 88 Bonneville, a salesman showed me the icon on the A/C controls showing airflow out of the dash vents. Since it was directed at a silhouette of a seat, he tried to tell me that the airflow came from the perforated leather in the seat. Idiot.
