Is anyones vibe bad for fogging up in wet weather ie rain or snow? Mine seems to be pretty bad for it, after a car wash it seems fine if its relatively dry. But last night it was washed quickly and not dried and seemed to fog up. The defogging works ok, it just seems to fog easily when its wet out or the car isnt dried. Can anyone atest to this as well?

Yeah, Rain-X Anti-Fog works well. I haven't used it yet on the Vibe but it has worked well in my other cars.

Turn up the heat a little bit as well. I use my vents and recirculate for fast heating, but it fogs the windows a bit. So I switch back to defrost and the car defogs instantly, cold or warm, with the fan at 3 or 4, heat on high.Good luck.

i was driving in the rain a few days ago, and couldn't get the back windows defogged. i had the defrost on high (hot air) with recirculated air. that worked well for clearing the windshield, and after some time, cleared the front side windows as well. however, even after 20 minutes, i still couldn't get the side back windows clear. any ideas?

I thought that recirculate causes some fogging.

Yes--You are correct. If my recirculate button is ON I do expereince fogging ,but if it is OFF (Green Lite Off) then fogging has never been a problem. James

in that specific situation (wet and cold outside), it seemed like the windows defogged faster with the recirculate on. i actually only tried it after having read on some thread here that recirculate ON would defog more effectively. the fogging and the air moisture scenario do make sense. what are other ways to deal with this that have been effective?any idea how the anti-fog works? (i could go get it at the store and read the label myself, but in case anyone here already knows...) does it affect rate of "grime" buildup on the windows? i'm assuming it should be reapplied after the windows are cleaned.

The idea is to remove the moisture from inside your vehicle and the windows will clear up. Recirc doesn't do this! Also turn the A/C on and that will help remove moisture as well. I'm not sure if defog mode automatically turns it on, I know defrost does though. So for best performance, don't use recirc and use the A/C.

Try keeping your windows clean of grease and dirt. I have the window deflectors and so I can open the windows a crack (even if its raining) and that keeps ALOT of fresh air coming into my Vibe. That keeps the windows very clear.

No one has linked to the prior thread: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=2119 As I explained on page 2 of this thread, your air conditioner is on even though you didn't turn it on -- it is on anytime you select defrost and the outside temperature is much above freezing. Often this helps remove fog, but under certain circumstances it can make fog worse. I disconnected the feature so my A/C is only on when I want it to be and I'm happy with the results.Unless you are in a tropical rain storm, don't try to defog the windows while in recirculate mode. Your breath is the worst source of humidity as long as you are warmer than the windows. (People who don't understand this are the reason the stupid automatic A/C feature was put in.)

Just a thought. Any of you guys (or gals) that have trouble with fogging windows in your VIBES, do you smoke in your car? Tobacco smoke leaves a residue on the glass (and everything else) that may worsen the problem.
