Man, Ford's really on fire this year! Quote »DETROIT - Ford Motor Co.said today it is recalling 155,700 Crown Victoria sedans used as police cars or taxi cabs because of a fire risk.A sound insulator under the dash of the 2003-2005 model year Crown Victorias could slip out of position and overheat, Ford spokeswoman Kristen Kinley said.

That's good to know considering I'll be in Vegas next week. Thanks CP! No Ford cabs for me.

Just a matter of time before Chevy regains the contracts for America's police forces...seems pretty obvious Ford can't get it right. GM may have it's share of recalls, but my god, they're almost always little things. Faulty flasher relays, misprints in the owner manuals, or god forbid, a sliding door that's hard to open and causes wrist injuries. Yes, GM has had an occasional recall for serious things: faulty ignitions that could overheat in the grand am, causing a fire (few, if any actual reported fires though), faulty Bosch brake boosters, but seems like every Ford recall involves fire, explosion, or some other death trap.Glad I'm a GM man.

...speaking like Beavis... "Fire's cool... heh heh heh" Yeah, what's up with Ford products and spontaneous combustion? Geez, this has been happening for as long as I can remember.
