Well tonight for the first time I was able to use my roof rack. Never thought I would. I bought a new matress, and well, it was too big to fit in the back. So on the roof it went. It definitely made me happy to have it, because without a rack, it would have been a lot harder to take that thing home. Though even at driving 35 mph down the road, it felt like I was going to take off. Dunno what the purpose of this post is, but I guess I'm just happy, that's all.

I used it once. I was helping my mom move from her old office to a new one...we put some library book carts (in boxes) up there...we only had to drive 1/4 mile, but I still justified having it.

I'm going to use mine Labor Day weekend that we're going to camping. We should have not any problem to pack camping gears. I will take few pictures how much stuff put on roof rack in the future...

Yeah, I used my roofrack once. Last year when we went to the beech, I used a luggage carrier. It kinda hurt my mileage, we took 3 people, luggage, food, coolers and fishing equipment and we were all comfortable.

Bruiser,What year is your Bonneville in the background? Just curious as I had a '97 SE before I got my Vibe GT.

Ha! I just used mine to take an old mattress and boxspring to the dump! I worked great!

Yep, I've only used mine once and that was on a trip to TX from CA. We ended up bringing more stuff back than we left with, and what we brought barely fit on the way there, so we bought one of those Wal-mart bags and strapped that to the rack. 1 and only time used it!

I moved my son back home from college, and I now know that he has exactly two Vibefuls of junk that he takes to school! (We had to make two trips).On the second trip, we had to lash a Rubbermaid Roughneck plastic storage tub to the roof. It wasn't too heavy, so I put it on a towel directly on the roof, then slid the rails up against the front and back to keep it in position. A couple of elastic bungee cords were also used to hold it down.It made the 250 mile trip back from Evansville just great!

My 89 bonneville was almost perfect when I parted with it -- the tranny was flaky, so we decided to put her to rest...it was an 89, and it lasted 11 years, and 190,000 miles.A testament to GM quality.

I had over 200,000 miles on my 88 Bonneville SSE.

Just used my roof rack last night. We bought a new vanity cabinet for our bathroom (36"W x 18"D x 31"H) I thought I was going to be able to put it inside the Vibe, but with my daughter along (with her carseat), it had to go on the roof. I used about a half dozen bungee cords (didn't have any rope) and managed to get it home in one piece.

and to think I like my Trix better cause it didn't have one, lol. If I need to use a roof, I have my gf's Liberty

Never used mine. So far the only reason I think it is there is to (removed) me off when I am trying to wax my car.

I have used mine a fair amount, and my crossbars are pretty beat up.

my brother bought a used 93' chevy berretta and eventually was a hand-me-down to me so we both gave that car a good run although i was the one trying hard to take care of it unlike my brother. i think i did ok...she has 256,480 miles on her and she still lives with the exception of fixing the fuel pump but she still can run to this very day.

As for the roof rack...i havent had the need yet for it but im still glad that i have one for my use if there ever comes a day i need to carry something on the roof.

I use it from time to time getting lumber, PVC pipe, etc. from Home Depot. I always keep some spare bits of rope in one of the back storage compartments in case I need to tie something on top.

I've used it a few times. Last few times were for fishing rods. I like just knowing that if I ever need to haul something that won't fit in the vibe, I can just put it up on the roof rack.

I wish it ran the whole lengh of the roof. it seems that it would be more functional, then.

i used mine last summer one time to help my friend move his square patio table. that's about all it's good for w/o the damn crossbars
