i am not geman, but i like their thinking. do it right onces, and not spend twice to fix it up. no wonder honda/toyota/nissan do well...

Umm...I don't think any of those three makes are German...?Anyhow, my parents' vehicles are both affected by this recall...this should be fun!

I am half German...Mercedes does not have the best quality ratings lately and VW had the worst warranty in the industry up until recently. I think VW's market share is sagging too. Audi would not fess up to a fuel gauge issue years ago. The Dodge Sprinter is 100% Mercedes brought over here yet owners in the States keep blowing up rear axles, going on the 3rd-4th axle revision now. I guess in Germany they are used to hauling around pillows and cardboard boxes in Sprinters. Many Asian companies "hide" recalls and some have a lot of ownership from an American auto company.In the end no company is perfect...
