The manual says the dealer removes a tag from the key with a number on it and gives it to the first owner. Did anyone get this and if so what does it look like? The dealer didn't give it to me and I would like to know exactly what I am looking for before I call.

It's your key code... it's plastic with a bar code and 5 numbers under the bar code. ||||||||||For example (63147) - So in case you lose all your keys and you have this number, you can take it to a locksmith or pontiac dealership and they can cut you a key from that number...and it's white and the numbers are black...

Hmmmm I don't remember ever getting that. Perhaps I should look too, might come in handy some day. Although I hope that day never comes.

I got one. Its a metal tag - very small with some numbers on it.

I remember vividly getting one with my sunfire, but I honestly can't say I remember getting one with this car. I'm pretty sure the dealer who sold it (or even GM) can access that info, though, if all else failed.

I called the dealer today and he said he will have the number for me on Monday.

I dont remeber getting this either.....

i got one the dealer left it on my key ring its real small and has a 4 digit no on it the dealer can probably look it up by vin no.

Mine was just a small piece of metal with the numbers stamped into it like Sputnik described.

Sputnik's right....the vibe has the metal tab thingy...My GMC had the plastic one....my bad...
