Help, my antenna broke!!!

Well, I took my Vibe through a drive through car wash today and sure enough, my new(er) 3-piece antenna from Ebay wasn't flexible and broke back. It pulled the socket from the plastic base, and since I couldn't fix it or get the antenna off the base bolt, I had to cut the wire. Now I need to figure out how to get the antenna base off so I can try to fix it. I'm sure I will most likely end up having to get a whole new antenna assembly from Pontiac, which I'm sure will cost me a small fortune! Want to try to fix it first, though. Thank God for XM and CD's!

If you end up can't fix it, Try call local junkyard to see if they have any wreck Vibe and you might get lucky for really good deal. Also you can find something different like shark antenna or custom antenna from ebay.

Probably have to pull the headliner to remove the antenna base. Here's a pic from the matrix manual that might help, I'd bet it's the same as for the Vibe.

Joatmon is correct. The antenna base is secured on the underside of the roof. You have to remove the headliner, remove the large nut, then release the two tension clips.I thought I had done a walkthrough on the headliner when I rerouted my XM, but I guess not. I'll try to do one up tonight...I have the pictures, just need the steps. In the meantime, this is a photo from the underside of the antenna base...

I was looking at it today, but couldn't figure out how the headliner comes down.
