Day time running lights (again)

I did a search on this topic but didn't see what I wanted, so... I understand why GM went to the running lights, but I also know how upset company guards get when you don't dim your lights when entering work. Is there a way to temporarily disable them? Is there a way of making the parking lights the day time running lights? On my chevy van work truck they have a button with the light switch that you push 4-times to by pass them, that's the kind of trick I'm looking for. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have a switch spliced into pin 12 on the drl relay. This allows me to disable it whenever I pull up to the military gate. Also, I researched converting the drl's to the parking lights and it looks almost impossible. The way everything is currently junctioned, both your front and rear lights will come on with the drls. It's the same as disabling your drl's and flipping the headlights up 1-click.

I'm sure there's a how-to around this site someplace. I just can't find it. When I get home, I can post the one I made on matrixowners.com

There is a how-to.. it just needs to be found. If I remember correctly, another method is grounding the yellow wire going into the DRL module. This will disable both the DRLs and the automatic headlights. If you want to make it switchable, simply have a switch that'll go between ground, and the other end of that yellow wire.

I think the longest DRL disable thread is
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1188 and there are lots and lots of DRL disable threads, but I don't know if there is a straightforward DRL disable how to on this site. The info is there, just not sure what format it's in.I used the pin 12 wire, the red w/ white stripe wire, cut it and and hooked up a switch. I leave the DRLs on almost all the time, about the only time I turn them off is to "un-flash" other Vibers, since you can't normally turn them off, but as far as I can tell, none of them has ever noticed

Dead link! I too would like to diver the DRL to either the parking or fog lights.
