i haven't done it yet, but i did ask the man who is going to eventually paint my car, and he said it can be done...he explained the prep process to me, but of course i had no idea what he was saying...Quote, originally posted by rcasciola »hey guys..and gals...wondering if anyone has painted their gray plastic on their two tone... i remember areading a while ago that someone was goign to do it but it was too expensive and the paint wouldnt stick...just wondering if anyone has accomplished this..and if u dnt mind me asking price? thanx

I had mine painted by a friend that owns a body shop, charged me $200. Done last fall, it held up well but I noticed a small spot where the paint chipped under the fog light (about a 1/2 inch). This may be due to the continuous snow we've had (record winter about 116 inches) or some other cause, the rest seems fine. The prep is important from what he told me.

I would never paint it. I like "Subaru Outback" look it gives. Plus, I don't cry if I scratch it, it's just plastic...

I liked it at first too but it gets all faded...and besides it will look a lot better painted with the Aerogear kit...instead of having a gray stipe across the fenders and doors.IMHO

No prob, I like it better this way too, but it probably won't be as durable as the plastic alone. BTW the small white spots are because I didn't get a chance to wash it when you asked for pics, it has been snowing/raining here.
