Did you check to see if you still have a blade back there? Sometimes the blade will make a heck of a racket if it's old or hasn't been used in awhile.

Mine is extremely noisy as well if it's not absolutely pouring down rain, keeping that rear window soaked. I can't even use mine on intermittent, because after about 2 minutes it starts making scraping noises. It's done that since the car was new, so it's not the age of the wiper blade...just something strange about the design of the car I guess.Sounds like yours is probably the same issue, if it comes and goes. Is it better when it's raining harder and worse when the rain is light?

I think it's just the fact that the rear wiper motor is loud. Thanks again Toyota

It could be from the angle of the window, but that is just a guess. I have never used mine.

Only noise I have heard was the actual motor spinning and working. I have thought about taking the cover off to see if I can add insulation but never got that far. My blade is still the original...

The blade is in good shape (I'm on my second one) so I don't think that is causing the problem. The motor itself goes GRIND GRIND as the wiper moves. Not to mention something on that circuit is messed up, it induces static into the radio when the rear wiper is on. And yes, I can't thank Toyota enough. I use the rear wiper every time it rains, and this really gets on my nerves.

Mine's fairly quiet, or about as loud as most rear-window wipers. When it's somewhat dry out, i'll hear the blade skipping across the window, but no scraping, grinding, or other unusual stuff.

It interfered with my iTrip in a big way, and it even interferes with my hard-wired FM modulator, though not as severely as it did with the iTrip.Anyone have any ideas on what may be causing that?

Huh, I've never heard mine running like y'all have. It's good that there is a simple remedy for it. I'll keep this in mind if mine decides to start singing. Let us know if it starts again or if there's any other problem.

Wow ! I didn't think anyone used the rear wiper. I think I tried mine once to make sure it worked. Actually now that I think about it I don't think I ever see anyone around here using theirs, of course we are all to busy drinking our Starbucks to really notice much anyways.
