Mr Goodwrench ads versus Ford Service ads.

As a GM dealership employee, I watch the latest Goodwrench ads with horror. I assume they are supposed to be humorous, but I find them repulsive. The newest series of Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Parts & Service ads, on the other hand, are very well done, very intelligent, and actually would make me at least TRY my Ford dealer IF I have a Ford. The GM Goodwrench ads make me want to scream......am I alone?

No your not alone. GM is striving to get back the market share aftermarket shops have and their best attempt is lame "Who's Mr Goodwrench?" and survivor type GM service adds which are not at all inspiring.Of course I don't and would never own a ford but I will agree their ads make them look better. Now when I was in the Subaru dealership yesterday I looked through their service department. I really liked it, had a much better professional look to it then any I was used to...I'm starting to wonder if putting GM service advisor skills on a resume might actually harm my chances of a job back in that field.

If I knew who to call, I would. If I was GM & this is the best the ad agency could come up with, I'd fire them. These commercials make GM dealers look like bufoons.
