ok, the power adaptor broke off in the outlit. Not the whole plug just the top piece that "engages" aka the top piece of the plug. Sorry I am at a loss to explain the part. LOL...anyway, I pulled at it with some needlenosed plyers but no luck. Does anyone know how I can get it out without taking it to a radio place/ the dealership? Thanks!

You should be able to go to Radio Crap and pick up a new plug, just rewire it into the plug, that should do it.

Can you take a pic of what's stuck where so we can get a better idea of what the problem is?

ah, I would like to but I have no cam. if you look at the top of the plug there is a piece that is spring mounted, or at least you can push it in and it pops back out, that is what is stuck in the outlit.

I think I know what you mean...I'd recommend a pair of locking forceps if you have them (radio shack does if you don't), but disconnect the battery first, sticking metal in that outlet is the EASIEST way to blow fuses...

Is it just the bit that springs, or is it the whole top, meaning the chrome piece that screws on, as well? Make sure the car is off, and just try to pry it out... Or do as ragingfish says.

It's just the top piece....should I be twisting or pulling? LOL
