There are at least two full seasons available on DVD. I've read the rave reviews in the past, and have been tempted to buy them, but never did.I am not sure if this is a spin-off of the BBC version, or if they're actually just airing the same episodes.[EDIT] I just read on the NBC website that it is based on the BBC hit. So, not having seen either one, I would assume the cast is different, etc. I just checked, and it's the original is available via Blockbuster online.

Hey hon chill out! Scott is TALKING about The Office! That show IS a spin-off of the BBC show--the British guy who is in that version won an Emmy last year for that show--it's hysterical. I don't know if the American version is as funny though--I have not seen it.

I have watched the BBC version of the show. I found it more annoying than I did funny. The main boss, David Brent, is THE BIGGEST douche I have ever seen on a TV show. And pretty much because of that fact I find it incredibly difficult to watch the show and enjoy it. I keep missing the American version because I forget about it. Not really sure if I even want to waste my time with it.

It is brilliant. But it may take a few episodes before one appreciates some of the English humour and more importantly understands English accents and colloquialisms (sp?).

I think that's part of the point of the show. There are a lot of bosses in corporate America that are 'douches'. A lot probably depends on your work experiences. Some people feel like they're at work, while others can't relate at all. Kind of like the Dilbert cartoon - a lot of people probably don't think it's funny at all. Because of my work experience, I think it's hilarious. Another example - Office Space. A lot of people can totally relate to a lot of those characters, because we work with people just like them.I have to check both versions of The Office out - just never remember...
