I posted this response to a request from Salsa on another topic;I work for myself, I am an independent underground mine design consultant. I work for various mining companies and consulting firms and am based in Sudbury Ontario. My office is an IBM ThinkPad A31 and design mines in 3D using piggyback software running in AutoCAD 2000. Most of the time I'm parked at a clients office or a mine site. This is so much fun, and they actually pay me.

It is called 20/20 design. It is specifically for kitchen design. The different cabinet manufacturers load their catalogs into the system. I work with semi-custom cabinetry rather than full custom cabinetry. So it is a little different for each design firm depending on their kitchen suppliers. It is however a Canadian company .I also used a CAD system when I worked for Canac Cabinetry which is also a canadian company and it was called CanCad. It was a proprietary program that only Canac uses which utilized millimeters rather than inches and that was a little tough to get accustomed to....but a very good program nonetheless.

Ha, small word....Canac did the kitchen in our house. I designed the layout in AutoCAD then gave the drawings to the firms who were bidding. Canac even beat Home Depot on price. I did not realize that the company was that big and had branch offices in the US.

I did work on a line that built truck columns for GM in Oshawa. The line next to ours just shut down a few months ago was the Camaro/Firebird column, and a friend of mine works on the line that builds Cavalier/Sunfire columns for Lordstown. Caddy & Vette columns are also built near our dept. Our plant builds columns for alot of different makes of vehicles.
