Fog Lights...

Hey all...I just checked a local tv station's website, and they gave me links to vehicle recall information sites. I checked, and according to
http://www.autosafety.org/ , the 2004 Vibe doesn't have any recalls as of right now. However, it does have a section where you can complain about problems with your vehicles. I'm going to check with my dealership this week to see if they will budge on replacing the broken GLASS fog light for no charge. If they don't, I'm going to go to that website and file a complaint. Maybe if enough of us do it, GM/Toyota might have to issue a recall regarding this issue. I mean, what's the sense in having fog lights if you can't use them because they continuously break due to being made of glass rather than Lexan?P.S.Sorry if this topic is in the wrong forum. Wasn't sure if I should put it in here or Problems and Warranty Issues.

I swear, I am the only one without this problem. Everyone posts about broken fog lights, but...knock on wood. I have had no problems at all.

Yeah the glass is crappy! Before I made protectors I did not lose one but they did get pitted and I knew soon they would take a hit. Let us know if you hear anything...BTW, the new full sized Dodge Ram Trucks also have glass fogs. I guy at work lost one of his already too.

No problems here.People need to realize a company is NOT going to issue a recall for something that doesn't put passenger safety at risk. If something is simply poor design, or an inconveninece, you have a SHOT at getting a technical service bulletin, but don't get your hopes up.

I've had my Vibe for 3 years with no problems with the fog light being cracked or broken. Considering all the crap that gets kicked up on our roads, I guess I am lucky.

i've gone through about 3 sets of fogs, 2 aftermarket. no one's going to replace the fog because the glass broke. now if it leaked and had moisture, or the seal was bad, that might be a different story. i had a fog on my tundra replaced because the seal leaked.

No broken ones here either but they are so pitted they are now opaque not clear. I just changed the ones on my '99 Sierra and they were in better shape than the 1 1/2 year old Vibe. The truck has lexan lenses.

Well I'll have to chime in here with another vote for no problems at all.Had the Vibe since May 2003 - no broken fogs, no overly visible pitting or scratching, and no burnt bulbs even. Still running the stock bulbs from the factory even.Headlights are starting to look a bit pitted and the lenses need some polishing, but that's about it for us.
