Do the speaker covers just pop off? I want to replace the interior speakers but I don't want to screw up the interior.

Except for the extra tweeters as part of the "Moon and Tunes" package, the speaker covers are part of the door panels and do not "pop off". You have to remove the door panels to replace the speakers. The SEARCH function easily finds this informative thread with pictures and all:

And speakers are riveted in place (no screws) so you have to drill out rivets to set new speakers in place. Lots of fun....

Easy enough to pull off door panels...purchase tool for $15 at local auto parts store. Clips are along bottom edge and pop out easily......power window/lock wire clips were a major pain but not complicated just stubborn

I don't understand why they speakers are riveted in, it seems pretty dumb to me. Maybe the Vibe engineers have already heard this complaint and are making the changes.

Are you finding the sound vastly improved over the stock speakers with the stock head unit? I thought the front tweeters and door speakers are crossed over. I'm planning on putting Rockford Fosgate speaker with the adjustable tweeter for the door. Do you still get full range sound from the door speakers upfront eventhough there are separate tweeters running?I find the high end somewhat lacking with the factory speakers and definition lacking. I rather not replace the head unit if I don't have to. I was thinking on replacing just the tweeters.Any comments on this would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

I had just the standard stereo, not the moons & tunes which have the tweeter mounted higher in the door, so I don't know too much about that setup. (The moons & tunes also has an amplifier that mine did not have.)I think I remember someone posting some pics of their tweeter replacement where they put some Polk tweeters in. (it could have been on
http://www.matrixowners.com)Personally, I'd try the new speakers & tweeters with the stock head unit and see how it sounds.
